doTerra Slim and Sassy

I've struggled with weight (sadly not underweight) most of my adult life, but I've been very resistant to taking toxic (many weight loss supplements) ways and/or medical (surgery) to lose weight.  I heard about Slim and Sassy, so thought I'd give it a try.

We'll see in the coming months how that works out.  If it can help with my slow metabolism, give me more energy I'll be happy, but be doubly exstatic if I drop some weight too!

So what I'm taking is the Metabolic Oil Blend and the Trim Shake.

Slim and Sassy Metabolic Oil Blend.

The five Essential Oils in Slim and Sassy Metabolic Oil Blend (Grapefruit, Lemon, Peppermint, Ginger, Cinnamon) are helpful in curbing appetite, regulating metabolism and can help with insulin levels.

I've added the oil to my water the past few days, and it is a strong, so started with 1-2 drops and drink it throughout the day.  It is good, but took a couple days to get use to the flavor. It is recommended to NOT put it in plastic (so no plastic bottles!), but use glass if possible.

It is recommended 3-5 drops in water 3-5 times a day (it can be put on the tongue, under the tongue or in a capsule).

Slim and Sassy Trim Shake

I had the first chocolate Trim Shake today.  It is recommend to be mixed with water (1% organic milk), and have to say the taste isn't the best.  It was a bit difficult to mix easily as well - a bit clumpy.  So, I put it in the blender with a banana and some frozen blue berries and it made it palatable.  Not great, but I've had worse (hemp protein powder is much more rugged than this, but it's not as tasty as some weight loss drinks that have alot of sweeteners).

On the plus side, it did fill me up.  I'm going to try one (maybe two a day), and see how it goes.  I'm going to try the Vanilla next month (hoping the taste may be more from the chocolate!)

Trim Shake - Chocolate

Chocolate Slim & Sassy® TrimShake is a convenient and delicious shake mix providing the essential nutrients of a healthy meal with only 125 calories per serving. Used as a meal replacement for one or more meals each day, TrimShake can help you lose unwanted fat stores through calorie restriction and regular exercise. TrimShake also includes a patented weight-loss ingredient EssentraTrim that has been demonstrated to help with managing the stress hormone cortisol associated with fat storage. TrimShake blends well with water or milk for a low-calorie, low-glycemic, high-fiber satisfying meal alternative with 16 grams of protein per serving.

Greetings and Welcome!

I've been toying with starting this blog for awhile, and finally decided to just do it, or another year would pass with nothing done.

Brambles, the name of this blog and my intent is to share my journey towards living a better life. It won't be easy nor necessarily pretty, but hopefully will have lots of wonderful moments much like the roses and wonderful berries that are a reward for fighting all the thorns.

What do I mean a better life?  A better life for me.  I'm over 50, separated, empty nester that feels strongly about the whole 'green' movement, organic food, healthy life choices and leaving less of an impact on Mother Earth than not.

My choices are not what everyone can or would want to make for their life, and that's okay!  We each have our own choices to make and path to walk.  I've consciously chosen to start making choices that feel right to me. Recycling was the first 20 years ago! Removing most household toxins (cleaners) and using vinegar, baking soda, essential oils, etc. to clean with, and continually educating myself on the benefits of these changes, then making them!  I won't lie it can be slow going, some are down-right hard!
